Pomeranians were used as herding breeds back when they were 30lb dogs, so I had thought that they might still have that instinct. I had my little girl herding tested before she disappared and she passed on ducks, leaving all the Collie and Sheltie people with open mouths. So when I got Oreo I figured, why not see if he had it too. As it turns out, he is even more into it than she was. He herds my ducks, my chickens and even takes on my geese. He may be a bit of a whimp when it comes to being groomed or having shots, but a hissing goose doesn't phase him one bit.
